Making transformative video creative for Dell EMC

For Dell EMC, the most important campaign of 2017 centered on the topic of IT Transformation. Many of Dell EMC’s customers had been watching the forces of digital transformation disrupt their companies but weren’t necessarily sure of what to do or how to act. The IT Transformation campaign was to be a sweeping awareness effort to loosen the status quo, providing clear and thought-provoking content on the trends that are affecting IT, with the goal of spurring a deeper look into the technologies they could adopt to transform their own businesses.

The tip of the spear for the campaign was to be several pre-roll videos and Dell EMC turned to Willis Collaborative. Willis Collaborative drew from the core creative of the web campaign, notably an aqua spot color treatment used on select objects, and a “golden thread” treatment used to illustrate a bar graph. The end result were stunning, high-energy pre-roll videos that mixed stock video and motion graphics with a bullet-time effect to deliver on the concept.

In addition to the pre-rolls, Willis Collaborative proposed using a “faux 3D” effect to bring the core creative to life for video banners on Facebook.
